Native-speakerism in ELT in Morocco: A Study of Students’ Attitudes and Teachers’ Self-perceptions

The purpose of this study is threefold. First, it aims to discuss the concept native-speakerism in English language teaching and how such an ideology still manifested discriminatory practices between native English-speaking teachers (NESTs) non-native (non-NESTs). Second, seeks explore Moroccan EFL students’ (MEFLSs) attitudes towards NESTs non-NESTs. Finally, endeavours measure teachers’ (MEFLTs) self-perceptions regarding their own proficiency level comfort different skills, components levels, along with beliefs about perceptions other To end, a total 119 participants took part present (76 MEFLSs 43 MEFLTs). findings show that MEFLSs’ non-NESTs are positive MEFLTs’ or skills levels high.
